Visual Arts

Lower Campus

We offer art as a weekly special course for our Lower Campus students.  In this class, they learn how to make art and appreciate how art is part of our history and culture. They try different types of art, like drawing, painting, sculpture, and pottery.

Upper Campus

In middle school, our students work to improve their art skills and learn to think more deeply about art. They use different materials like drawing, printmaking, painting, and collage. They also learn how to look at their own art and others’ work and talk about it in a thoughtful way.

In high school, our students can choose to focus on things like drawing, painting, or digital art. They also make portfolios to show how they have grown as artists. In drawing and painting, they practice seeing things clearly and use different ways to create their own style. In digital art, they use tools like computers, cameras, and editing software to make their own 2-D designs. Our advanced students can even earn college credit by making a final portfolio that shows off their best work.
