Theater Arts

In middle school, our students learn basic skills in acting, directing, set design, costuming, and managing a theater. In high school, they keep growing those skills. They also study the history of theater. They learn how it started in ancient Greece and how American musicals came to be. Each student who takes a theater class must be in at least one play each year.

Music

Our music program gives our students the chance to hear, perform, create, and appreciate all types of music. These activities help them learn about music, try different instruments, and creatively express themselves.

At our Lower Campus, music is integrated into homeroom activities and taught during dedicated music classes two to three times per week. Our students build a strong foundation by learning solfeggio frequencies and how to read music. Our students in 3rd grade through 5th grade can also join the Lower School chorus. The chorus performs several times each year, including at venues like the Cleveland Clinic and Weston Town Center.

At our Upper Campus, students can join music groups like concert band, rock band, chorus, or percussion ensemble. They can also learn to play the keyboard or guitar, and even learn about the history of rock ‘n’ roll. Many of our students have done very well in music competitions! Our school band, the Sagemont Prep Lions Band, has students who perform in bands across Florida. Our musicians have fun playing at places like Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, Miami Heat games, and Marlins Stadium.
