AdvancEd Accreditation Process Complete: We are excited to share that we have completed our AdvancEd Accreditation process and we will receive official notification of our renewed accreditation by the end of June. The External Review Team was very complimentary regarding our school’s ongoing effort to improve the quality of our institution and congratulated us for our dedication and commitment to The Sagemont School. We thank our administrators, staff, students and families for their participation in this process.
Welcome to Dr. Robert M. Mockrish, New Head of School: We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Robert M. Mockrish as the Head of The Sagemont School effective May 15th, 2017. This appointment is the culmination of an extensive national and international search in which our search committee-with the help of our consulting firm Carney Sandoe & Associates- screened over 75 candidates. Dr. Mockrish’s credentials and background are impressive and include over 26 years of private school experience. Please mark your calendars to join us for one of these four meet and greet events. All Sagemont families are invited to attend any of these events.
- Event 1: Tuesday, May 16th: Meet and Greet Lower School Cafeteria, 3:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. (coffee, snack)
- Event 2: Wednesday, May 17th: Meet and Greet Upper School Media Center, 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (coffee, snack)
- Event 3: Tuesday, May 23rd: Meet and Greet Lower School Cafeteria, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (breakfast)
- Event 4: Wednesday, May 24th: Meet and Greet Upper School Media Center, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (breakfast)

Congratulations to Graduating Class of 2017: The Sagemont School would like to congratulate the Class of 2017 for their recent college acceptances. We are very proud of our students and their hard work has certainly paid off. This class is highlighted by acceptances to 22 out of the top 50 US News and World Report colleges and universities in 2017. Additionally, the Class of 2017 includes 8 University of Miami, 13 University of Florida, 17 Florida State University and 17 University of Central Florida acceptances. We are currently calculating the total amount of merit scholarships that the class earned and will share that total with you as soon as it is available.
Lower School Campus News: Our Lower School Campus will host a week of grade level recognition ceremonies starting on Monday, May 15th. At these ceremonies, we celebrate the outstanding efforts and accomplishments of our students from kindergarten to 5th grade. As is our tradition, we will end our third trimester at our Lower School Campus with our annual Curriculum Family Night on Thursday, May 25th. This year’s theme is Plants and Butterflies and the campus is sure to be alive with color!
Upper School Campus, Graduation is Upon Us: Sagemont’s high school graduation is on Friday, May 26th and the dinner dance for graduates and their families will be held on Thursday, May 25th. The commencement ceremony will be live-streamed around the world and the link for this will be available on our website home page during the week of graduation.
Camp Sagemont, June 12th to August 11th: Don’t forget to make plans for your students to participate at Camp Sagemont this summer. There will be nine weeks of summer fun from June 12th to August 11th! Camp is available for students from age three through 10th grade. There is something for everybody. For all camp information, please go to www.campsagemont.com.
Finally, a special thanks goes out to Chuck Connor who acted as our Interim Head of School during this school year.
